It took me a second to figure out these “lamps”. They are a tricky littke design actually - made from a black vinyl sticker. Light source consists of an Ikea-type cord and bulb lighting system (hmmmph…not included???) Anyway, if you dare to be trendy, get yours at designboom.com for $89.

I just love the minimalist design of this gold ring by Adina Reyter. Called the signature ring, it is delicately pounded to give it just a but of texture without additon any extra decoration. The petite design of it seems comfortable too. Made of 14 carat gold. From Active Endeavors ($209)

I want this… Yes, I know its for little girls and I haven’t been a little girl for some time now; okay a long time.
It is a sewing kit with all kinds of felt shapes, fabrics, threads and trimmngs for you to make little stuffed animals, book covers or any number of other things. All of this packs away in a fun little orange suitcase. My neices were having a good time playing with this kit yesterday and I liked it because the needle and thread looked so easy to work with and the brightly colored felt shapes were irresistable. $20 from The Land of Nod.

Bilhenry Walker is a designer of avante garde furniture, not to mention a talented painter and sculptor too. His recent furniture collection is called “sculptural furniture” with pieces such as sofas, bar stools and even conference tables and chairs. I am especially intrigued by these great sofa chairs. Their hard metallic edges and their soft leather cushions are almost indistinguishable. Very futuristic.

They can be worn by children too. Extra cute points there! The cream silk ribbon is a nice soft alternative to metal and beads, don’t you think? Sold by Twig ($19).
